Terms of service

Last updated 16 September 2026

These terms apply to salons and individuals who create a BookBook account ("you"). By creating an account you agree to them. Clients who book appointments through a salon's page deal with that salon; the salon's own cancellation and deposit policy applies to the appointment.

1. The service

BookBook provides an online booking page, diary, client records, reminders, intake forms and reports for salons and independent stylists. We may improve or change features over time; we will not remove a core feature you rely on without notice.

2. Free trial and subscription

  • New accounts start with a free trial. No card is needed to start the trial.
  • After the trial, the Independent plan is £35 per month for one stylist profile with unlimited bookings, plus £12 per month for each additional staff member. Prices include VAT where applicable and may change with 30 days' notice.
  • Subscriptions are monthly and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • There is no commission on bookings. Card processing fees charged by the payment provider on client payments and deposits are separate and shown before you enable payments.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Your account stays active until the end of the paid month. Fees already paid are not refunded, except where the law requires it. Before closing your account you can export your clients, bookings and records.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Keep your login details secure and tell us if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
  • Provide accurate business information and keep your services, prices and availability up to date.
  • Use the service lawfully. In particular, only send marketing messages to clients who have agreed to receive them, and handle client data in line with UK GDPR. Our privacy policy explains how BookBook processes data on your behalf.
  • Do not use the service to send spam, to store content that is unlawful or offensive, or to attempt to access other accounts.

5. Your data

Your salon's data and your clients' data belong to you. We process it only to provide the service, keep it secure, and back it up. You can export it at any time. When an account is closed we delete or anonymise it as described in the privacy policy.

6. Availability

We aim to keep BookBook available around the clock and keep planned maintenance short and, where possible, outside UK business hours. We cannot promise the service will never be interrupted, and we are not responsible for problems caused by your internet connection, your devices, or third-party services such as SMS networks.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the subscription fees you paid in that period. We are not liable for lost profits or indirect losses, including losses caused by missed or incorrect bookings where the information was entered by you or your client.

8. Ending or suspending accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used for spam or fraud, or has unpaid fees after reminders. Where reasonable we will warn you first and give you the chance to export your data.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its date and, for material changes, tell account holders by email at least 30 days before they take effect.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any consumer rights you have in the country where you live.
